Skin Rejuvenation

Woman face, beauty portrait. Young model.

Skin Rejuvenation can be improved At Skinny Me with the use of our Q-Switched (Quality-Switched) YAG laser to help with patient’s skin rejuvenation to remove unwanted brown spots, sun freckles, moles, or skin tags, from your skin. The laser energy pulse, which is in billionths of a second, releases the pigment into the skin so it can be naturally reabsorbed and disposed of by the body.

Our laser skin rejuvenation involves brief, high-energy laser pulses applied to the skin. The intense energy causes a photoacoustic effect in the skin, stimulating cells to produce more collagen. The increased collagen production reduces the appearance of skin imperfections such as age spots, acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

The Q-Switch laser can improve/remove:

  • Skin texture
  • Skin tone
  • Evenness
  • Sun spots and freckles
  • Age spots
  • Moles
  • Birthmarks
  • Skin Tags
  • Melasma

What is the procedure?

A skin rejuvenation procedure takes less than ten minutes, requires no consumables, and is completely painless. Q-switched laser light is applied in a continuous motion across the patient’s treatment area, avoiding sensitive locations. Treatments are typically performed on the face, neck, and/or hands. Side effects from the skin rejuvenation procedure are typically mild. Patients may have a slightly pinkish skin tone, as if they had just exfoliated.

What are the typical results?

Skinny Me patients can see a variety of improvements to skin appearance, elasticity, and tone as early as the first treatment. Skin texture feels more consistent, and scars are less apparent.

Impressive resurfacing results can continue to be seen if a patient receives multiple treatments over time. Laser skin rejuvenation is a great repeat procedure– patients like the results and want to continue the progress.

What benefits can I expect?

A single treatment usually removes greater than 75-100% of an individual brown spot.  A second or, on rare occasions, a third treatment, may be needed to completely neutralize the color.

What are risks or/and side effects?

A red or brown spot may appear when the treated sun freckle is gone and the crust heals. Although this new spot is temporary and usually goes away on its own, it can be treated if it persists. Infections and/ scars are rare. Proper skin care and sun avoidance are important.

Prior to treatment potential risks and side effects will be discussed with Skinny Me’s laser experts and medical provider.
