How does Laser Therapies work?
The laser works by targeting specific pigments in the skin, which TARGETS the damaged skin cells in the treatment area.*
-
Skin Rejuvenation: The Q-switched laser is used to help with skin discoloration. The laser energy pulse, which is in billionths of a second, releases the pigment into the skin so it can be naturally reabsorbed and disposed of by the body.
-
Tattoo Removal: The Q-switched laser is used for unwanted tattoos. The laser light is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade over the course of several treatments.
-
Nail Fungus: The Q-switched laser is used to help eliminate the gunk and fungus. Treat your toes! Make your feet look attractive again!
-
Mole Removal: The Q-switched laser is used for treating pigment-related problems, like moles, freckles, and pigmented lesions.
-
Vascular Lesions: The Q-switched laser is used to penetrate deeper into the skin than lasers that use shorter wavelengths of light. This enables the treatment of deeper vascular lesions such as reticular veins, deeper spider veins, hemangiomas, and leg veins that can be targeted with other lasers.

Who our Laser Therapies work for:
WOMEN:
Women have been removing hair from various parts of their bodies for thousands of years as far back as the ancient Egyptians. In modern times, as methods and technologies have evolved, it has only become more common. LightSheer is already the choice of many women for full-body laser hair removal, with the most popular being upper lip, chin, bikini area, underarms, and legs. With the permanent hair reduction results they can achieve with LightSheer, women enjoy more freedom and confidence in their day-to-day lives.
MEN:
It used to be that hair removal was strictly a female thing. Not so anymore. More and more are opting for the same grooming rights as women and looking for permanent hair removal for men. Some men don’t necessarily want it all removed, just thinned out. With LightSheer, men usually remove hair from the back, chest, stomach, shoulders, and genital area.
TEENS:
Although those under age 18 require the presence of a parent on the first consultation, LightSheer is an ideal treatment option for teenagers, even young teens. It can provide good results in a relatively short period of time, fitting in with teenagers’ lifestyles. LightSheer laser hair removal has overturned the teen hair-removal equation.
The sooner that hair follicles are damaged by a beam of concentrated light, the more time teens can regain for activities that are more interesting and fun than shaving and waxing. The risks and side effects of laser hair removal are the same for teenagers as for adults. And like adults, when teenagers adhere to a good aftercare regimen, they are reduced even further.
DARK SKIN:
Laser hair removal used to be considered ineffective or unsafe for people with ethnically dark skin (Fitzpatrick skin types IV-VI) or sun-tanned skin. That has now changed. With the evolution of technologies and years of additional studies, laser hair removal is now generally considered to be safe and effective for all skin types. Now, longer wavelengths, reduced fluences, longer pulses and suitable methods of cooling together minimize risks of side effects and maximize efficacy. The longer wavelength of 1060 nm, delivered by diode laser, is considered the safest for treating people of color, due to their darker skin. In skin of color, a hair removal laser with longer wavelength can reduce side-effects such as abnormal formation of pigment in the skin (dyspigmentation) and ingrown hairs or “razor bumps” (pseudofolliculitis barbae) and thus improve patient satisfaction.
INGROWN HAIRS:
Ingrown hairs can be a result of shaving or razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae) which can cause painful or itchy bumps in the skin which are particularly common among people with curly hair. The condition can happen after shaving; some of the hairs curl back into the skin and causes raised, pus-filled blisters (pustules) or small solid pimple-like bumps (papules). It is estimated that ingrown hairs may affect almost 85% of men of African descent, and many women too.
Due to its excellent safety profile for all skin types, LightSheer can provide a uniquely safe and effective solution for this very common medical problem. By damaging the hair follicle, the laser energy destroys the follicle’s ability to produce hair. Therefore, there will be no ingrown hair, and thus none of the irritation, pain or infection that ingrown hairs commonly lead to. Because facial hair growth is driven by natural hormones in the body, maintenance treatments once or twice a year may be required to maintain the hair reduction effects of the original course of treatment.
